On Wednesday, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Downtown Doral made off with a 49-48 win over the Dolphins.
Leading Downtown Doral to victory were Samuel Salas and Sebastian Bueno. Salas scored 16 points, while Bueno scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. It was the first time this season that Salas scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Paolo Guerrero, who scored nine points.
Marathon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was ADRIAN CRUZ, who scored 13 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of DAESHAWN HOLMES, who scored eight points along with 20 rebounds and three blocks.
Downtown Doral's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Marathon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.
