The Northeast Guilford Rams won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 80-56 loss at the hands of Ben L. Smith. Northeast Guilford has not had much luck with Ben L. Smith recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Northeast Guilford's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dennis Fountain, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. Levi Webb was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Northeast Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Ben L. Smith, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeast Guilford will take on Williams at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ben L. Smith, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Dudley at 8:00 p.m. on January 24th. Dudley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
