The Belmont Bison pushed their score all the way to 60 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to Northmont. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (56), Belmont still had to take the loss.
Defeat or not, Belmont got some senior leadership from Denzell Ogle who scored 16 points along with 9 rebounds and Demetrius Boyd who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Judah Baldwin, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Belmont and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Northmont, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belmont will challenge Thurgood Marshall at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northmont, they will head out on the road to face off against Fairmont at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
