The Western Plains Bobcats were the 32-25 winner over the Golden Plains Bulldogs when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Western Plains fell 38-29 to Golden Plains on Friday.
Golden Plains got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Wark out in front who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Wark pulled down eight or more rebounds. Diego Perez was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Western Plains' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Golden Plains, their win ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Plains will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Quinter at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Golden Plains will be home for the holidays to greet St. Francis at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
