Timberlake is 7-2 against Genesis Prep Academy since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Timberlake pushed their score all the way to 56 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The matchup between Timberlake and Lakeland wasn't particularly close, with Timberlake falling 72-56.
Despite their loss, Timberlake saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tyler Engelson, who scored 28 points, was perhaps the best of all. The contest was Engelson's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Jacob Yetter was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Genesis Prep Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting St. Maries an easy 62-37 victory. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Genesis Prep Academy has scored all season.
Timberlake's record now sits at 3-6. Genesis Prep Academy's record now sits at 4-2.
