The South Kitsap Wolves will head out on the road to take on the Sumner Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
South Kitsap not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2nd (when they won 27-4). They were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over Curtis. Considering the Wolves' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Joci Lee made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Maleah Sawyers was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since April 2nd. Hannah Roebuck also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
South Kitsap was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .552. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Sumner hadn't done well against Rogers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Spartans had just enough and edged out the Rams 6-4. Six seems to be a good number for the Spartans as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
The team relied heavily on Riley Meyers, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Naya Alastra, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
South Kitsap's record is now 7-9. As for Sumner, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South Kitsap hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Sumner struggles in that department as they've averaged .343. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
South Kitsap skirted past Sumner 9-7 in their previous meeting on Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
