Baseball Recap: Medway Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Medway hadn't done well against Ashland recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Mustangs skirted past the Clockers 7-6. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Matt Wilde was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Trevor Smith was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Medway pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Ashland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Medway will square off against Holliston at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ashland, they will face off against Bellingham at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Clockers are facing the Blackhawks at the right time seeing as the Blackhawks are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
