Fort Wayne Snider is 8-2 against Fort Wayne South Side since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Archers at 5:30 p.m. Fort Wayne Snider is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.3 runs per game this season.
Fort Wayne Snider will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Homestead, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Panthers walked away with an 8-5 win over the Spartans on Saturday.
Fort Wayne Snider let Landen Fry and Trevor Jarvis run wild. Fry got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Jarvis got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Jarvis has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Logan, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne South Side was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 8-4 to Fort Wayne Canterbury.
David Sandoval put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Casen Harl and Corte Wallace did some serious damage despite the final result: Harl went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Wallace went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Adrian Belch - Watson was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Fort Wayne South Side's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Fort Wayne Snider, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fort Wayne Snider has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne South Side struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Fort Wayne Snider took their win against Fort Wayne South Side in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 17-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Archers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
