Whitman-Hanson Regional's and Key West's matchup on Thursday was close at halftime, but Whitman-Hanson Regional turned on the heat in the second half with 33 points. Whitman-Hanson Regional took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 63-35 win over Key West. That 63-35 margin sets a new team best for Whitman-Hanson Regional this season.
Meanwhile, Marathon's five-game losing streak came to an end last Wednesday. They walked away with a 57-50 victory over Archimedean. The victory was just what Marathon needed coming off of a 76-50 loss in their prior game.
Marathon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from ADRIAN CRUZ, who scored 27 points along with four steals. Those 27 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was YANIEL GARCIA, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
The win got Whitman-Hanson Regional back to even at 2-2. As for Marathon, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.
