Orange Coast recap October 8, 2013
Laguna Beach's Andres DeLaRosa rumbled for the longest rushing play in Orange Coast this season in his game against Northwood last week. DeLaRosa ran for 69 yards on the play and finished with 118 on the day as his team lost to the Timberwolves.
Calvary Chapel scaled the state rankings by moving to 558 from 725 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of besting Bolsa Grande 56-12.
Danny Mattero threw for 292 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Christian Laurent was the best running back in the league this week. In 29 carries, he ran for 149 yards as Estancia bested the Matadors. Teammate Dalton O'Daly added to the ground attack by rushing for 50 yards.
Chris Cox's team's Mattero and Joey Cox have formed a dream team this season, leading Orange Coast in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Mattero has thrown for 1,071 yards this season, while Cox has 28 catches for 330 yards. Nathan Lancaster from Laguna Beach leads the league in rushing with 744 yards.
The Eagles are in first place, while Godinez is in third place.
Calvary Chapel took down Bolsa Grande 56-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mattero ran for 88 yards in the win.
