The Poudre Impalas will challenge the Timnath Cubs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Poudre has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Timnath will arrive with seven straight wins.
On Thursday, Poudre came up short against Windsor and fell 3-1. While the Impalas didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wizards 25-17 in the first set.
Poudre started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-15, 25-11, 25-21.
Poudre's defeat came about despite a quality game from Morgan Huffman, who had 15 digs and three assists. Maggie Foster also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.
Meanwhile, Timnath earned a 3-1 victory over Roosevelt on Thursday.
Timnath had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-20, 25-20, 26-24.
Timnath's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Poudre, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
