Baseball Recap: Galena Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Galena, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Chadwick Cardinals with a sharp 10-0 victory on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Galena got a massive performance out of Bryce Wall, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Doak, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Galena was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chadwick only posted a batting average of .062.

Galena now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Chadwick, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Galena will head out to square off against Purdy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Chadwick, they will venture away from home to face off against Bradleyville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.75 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
