Orono is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Dexter a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Orono Riots will be playing at home against the Dexter Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Orono is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Orono made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bucksport, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Riots fell just short of the Golden Bucks by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday.

Jillian Severance spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Orono saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrea Crocker, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Madison Sinclair also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Dexter came up short against Central on Monday, falling 13-5.

Desiree Adams made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Dexter's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Orono, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Orono hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. However, it's not like Dexter struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
