Stoneman Douglas is 0-3 against South Broward since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Stoneman Douglas Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the South Broward Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Stoneman Douglas had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Fort Lauderdale at home to the tune of 47-19. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Stoneman Douglas has posted since December 4, 2023.
Meanwhile, South Broward scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to Cypress Bay for the full four quarters, racking up a 79-36 victory at home.
South Broward's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jazmine Jones, who dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 11 assists, and 11 steals, and Fabiana Poindujour, who shot 6-for-11 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamesha Card, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Stoneman Douglas' win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for South Broward, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4.
Stoneman Douglas was taken down by South Broward 57-20 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Stoneman Douglas was down 30-8.
