5A Region II District 16 recap November 5, 2013
Pflugerville scaled the state rankings by moving to 389 from 495 this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region II District 16. The Panthers were able to move up by topping Stony Point 27-14.
Hendrickson added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating McNeil, 21-7. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Hawks.
The Mavericks' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Colton Russell threw for 24 and 1 touchdown and Jaehlin Wilder had 68 yards receiving. On the ground Russell contributed 38 yards. Russell helped McNeil's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 25 yards.

Damian Lindley was a passing and rushing force as the Tigers lost to Pflugerville. He completed 12 passes for 119 yards and also ran for 18 yards. Lindley's key target this week was Justin Gamble, who caught 5 passes for 52 yards.
Round Rock Westwood's Bear Fenimore and Josh Bishop have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Fenimore has thrown for 2,714 yards this season, while Bishop has 61 catches for 830 yards. Lee Penland's team's Russell leads the league in rushing yards with 816.
A big matchup in 5A Region II District 16 this week will be when Stony Point takes on Round Rock. Craig Chessher's team is currently in third, while the Dragons are in fourth.
George Herrmann's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,689 from 4,804. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 27-14 victory over the Tigers last week.
