The Richmond Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Lee County Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Richmond will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
Richmond stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Union Pines 72-37 at home. With Richmond ahead 39-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.
It was another big night for Jamyia "Juicy" Lindsey, who scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Richmond's points. Another player making a difference was Jasiah "JoJo" Gilchrist, who scored nine points along with six assists and four steals.
Even though Lee County has not done well against Pinecrest recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lee County took down Pinecrest 61-46. The win was just what Lee County needed coming off of a 63-38 defeat in their prior contest.
Richmond pushed their record up to 18-4 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.4 points. As for Lee County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.
Everything went Richmond's way against Lee County in their previous meeting back in January as Richmond made off with a 68-44 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Lee County's Gillian Garrison, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
