Jefferson has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Waskom Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Jefferson can now show off 15 landslide victories after their most recent game on Wednesday. They breezed by Elysian Fields at home to the tune of 63-14. Given Jefferson's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while Elysian Fields is ranked 1496th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Waskom was able to grind out a solid victory over West Rusk on Friday, taking the game 65-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Waskom.
Jefferson is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. As for Waskom, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.
Everything came up roses for Jefferson against Waskom in their previous meeting on January 2nd as the squad secured a 65-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jefferson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
