Softball Recap: Deep Run Finds Home Field Redemption Against J.R. Tucker

Deep Run's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Cosby on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the J.R. Tucker Tigers a 10-0 shutout. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Braelyn Baulsir was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Charlotte Nerheim also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Deep Run kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Deep Run's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for J.R. Tucker, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Deep Run will take on Glen Allen at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for J.R. Tucker, they will head out to take on Varina at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
