Basketball Recap: Fairfax Falls Despite Big Games from Andrew Evans and Michael Holdbrook

Fairfax suffered their closest defeat since November 27th on Saturday. They fell just short of the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos by a score of 60-58.

Michael Holdbrook and Andrew Evans certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Holdbrook posted 20 points, while Evans put up 18 points. Holdbrook's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Crispus Mulah was another key player, putting up eight points.

Fairfax's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for La Joya Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairfax will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on North at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. La Joya Community will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Alhambra at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
