The Manchester Blue Devils waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They snuck past Taylor County with a 45-39 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Manchester, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
CJ Favors was nothing short of spectacular: he scored five points along with 23 steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayden Terry, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Taylor County's loss came despite strong showings from Ajavian Wilder and Brayden Ellison. Wilder scored ten points, while Ellison scored nine points.
Manchester is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Taylor County, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10.
Manchester will take on the Patriots at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Greenville is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Taylor County, they will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Schley County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully the Vikings like a good challenge.
