Columbia Academy waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars as they made off with a 12-3 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Anna Brewer made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Columbia Academy let Carolina Johnson and Emerson McAdams run wild. Johnson got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while McAdams went 3-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. McAdams continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Kinslee Wilhelm was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
