The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Red Cloud in their matchups with Sumner-Eddyville-Miller: they've now lost five in a row.
Red Cloud's loss came despite strong showings from Josie Rust and Adelynn Minnick. Rust scored 13 points, while Minnick scored 12 points. Rust scored a full 44.8% of Red Cloud's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller was led to victory by Taryn Arbuthnot and Mikah O'Neill. Arbuthnot scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals, while O'Neill scored 20 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which O'Neill has scored at least 25% of Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's points. Jaycelyn Hoos was another key contributor, scoring 3 points along with 10 rebounds and 4 steals.
