I Sunset - Northwest recap Sept. 26, 2012
Parker Rost and Ryan Beaulieu provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Canyon Springs. The connection went for 96 yards, the longest such play in I Sunset - Northwest this season.
Sierra Vista's Deyon Mckinney recorded the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against Del Sol last week. Mckinney's team fell to the Dragons as he sprinted for 83 yards on the play and finished with 235 in all.
Palo Verde's dynamic duo of Rost and Beaulieu proved tough for the Pioneers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Rost threw for 96 yards and one touchdown and Beaulieu had 96 yards receiving.
Shadow Ridge's Bakari Smith and Marquise Evans have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Smith has thrown for 953 yards this season, while Evans, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 22 catches for 524 yards. Sierra Vista's Mckinney leads the league in rushing yards with 584.
The top two teams in I Sunset - Northwest will face off this week when first place Arbor View takes on second place Spring Valley. Arbor View beat Centennial last week, while Spring Valley fell to Legacy.
The Aggies extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Bulldogs, 31-18. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
