The Greeley Central Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 79-46 victory over Greeley West. With that victory, Greeley Central brought their scoring average up to 52.2 points per game.
Greeley Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Martin Mendoza, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mendoza has scored all season. Reid Arlo richardson was another key contributor, going 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 1 assist.
Loss or not, Greeley West got some senior leadership from Jacob Flores and Andrew Zepeda. Flores dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, while Zepeda. scored 15 points along with three steals.
Greeley West struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Greeley Central racked up 14 assists.
Greeley Central's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Greeley West, they bumped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Greeley Central will take on Silver Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Silver Creek will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Greeley West, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Longmont at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Longmont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
