Given Northside Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Concord Academy is ranked 107th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kyrell Shaw continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Northside Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Arael Jones, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Northside Christian Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Concord Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.
Northside Christian Academy and Fayetteville Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Concord Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westminster Catawba Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
