The Taylor Titans had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-30 win over Eastern. That's another feather in the cap for Taylor, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Taylor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christian Hall led the charge by scoring 13 points along with three steals. Hall continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Javionne Harris, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Taylor pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Eastern, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taylor will take on the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastern, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Gophers at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Clinton Prairie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Comets in Indiana (the Gophers are ranked 106th, while the Comets are ranked 279th).
