The Spain Park Jaguars waltzed into their contest Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They breezed by Bessemer City at home to the tune of 46-10.
Spain Park got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Teagan Huey out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. Trinity Daniels was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Spain Park's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-13. As for Bessemer City, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
Spain Park has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Montevallo at 5:45 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Montevallo is ranked 274th, while Spain Park is ranked 261st). Bessemer City will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Anniston at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Anniston's defense has only allowed 26.5 points per game this season, so Bessemer City's offense will have their work cut out for Bessemer City.
