Basketball Recap: Josh Harris and Cole Coggin Secure Win for Riverview Sarasota

Riverview Sarasota won the last time they faced Sarasota Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Riverview Sarasota Rams came out on top against the Sarasota Christian Blazers by a score of 70-60. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Blazers are ranked 470th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Riverview Sarasota was led to victory by Cole Coggin and Josh Harris. Coggin went 7 of 13 en route to 24 points in addition to six assists and three steals, while Harris went 10 for 20 on his way to 28 points. The dominant performance gave Coggin a new career-high in points. Ryan Farris was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Several Blazers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ben Milliken, who went 8 for 18 on his way to 25 points and six rebounds. Milliken continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Justin Brock, who went 7 of 12 en route to 17 points.

Riverview Sarasota has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Sarasota Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-12.

Riverview Sarasota will square off against Lehigh on Wednesday. One thing working in Lehigh's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matchups. Sarasota Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
