Troy is 1-9 against Tippecanoe since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Troy Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Tippecanoe Red Devils at 7:15 p.m. Hopefully Troy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Troy came up short against Sidney and fell 40-29. Troy has struggled against Sidney recently, as their match on Saturday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Troy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Riley King, who scored 11 points along with three steals, and Carmen Brooks who scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points King has scored all season.
Troy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Tippecanoe earned a 37-30 win over Butler on Wednesday. The win was just what Tippecanoe needed coming off of a 51-27 loss in their prior matchup.
Troy bumped their record down to 4-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.8 points per game. As for Tippecanoe, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Troy lost to Tippecanoe on the road by a decisive 53-37 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Troy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
