The Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 11th straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 75-30 loss at the hands of Cotter. Wabasha-Kellogg has struggled against Cotter recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Wabasha-Kellogg lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ileana DeAngel, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 50% of Wabasha-Kellogg's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brielle Adams, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Even though they lost, Wabasha-Kellogg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. This was only their ninth loss (out of ten games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Wabasha-Kellogg's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-13. As for Cotter, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-2.
Wabasha-Kellogg will head out on the road to square off against Fillmore Central at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Cotter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Esko at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Esko is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
