AA Region VII recap Nov. 7, 2012
Lake Marion took down Garrett Academy Tech 43-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Deriante Jenkins threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
The Gators led AA Region VII in scoring this week after putting up 43 points on the Falcons. Jenkins in the win.
Lake Marion's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Eric Griffin chipped in 125 yards. Alex Brown helped Lake Marion's passing attack out by catching two balls for 82 yards.
DontreVyon Jones was the best wideout in the league this week as Chris Carter's team bested Garrett Academy Tech. Jones racked up three receptions for 106 yards.
The Gators' Jenkins and Mike Williams have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Jenkins has thrown for 3227 yards this season, while Williams, a 6-foot-5 receiver, has 54 catches for 1295 yards. Andrews's Jaleel Filmore leads the league in rushing yards with 926.
Lake Marion made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,828 from 8,305. The advance stemmed from a 43-6 victory over Dirk Thomas' team last week.
