St. Edward and Palmer are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The St. Edward Beavers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Palmer Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
Last Tuesday, St. Edward was beaten by Nebraska Lutheran 60-32.
Anthony Reader put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 16 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals. He scored a full 50% of St. Edward's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Marcos Paez, who scored 8 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Palmer's game on Tuesday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 44-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harvard. Palmer has struggled against Harvard recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Nebraska Christian's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while St. Edward's loss dropped theirs to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for St. Edward against Palmer when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 51-24 victory. Does St. Edward have another victory up their sleeve, or will Palmer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
