The Macon County Tigers came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Greenbrier 49-35. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Macon County also won the last time the pair played on January 9th.
Macon County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaylee Slayton, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Slayton pulled down eight or more rebounds. Katie Shockley was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six assists and two steals.
Macon County's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. As for Greenbrier, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Macon County will challenge Station Camp at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Greenbrier, they will head out on the road to take on White House at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
