The Waverly Wolverines had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Salamanca 42-0 at home. Waverly is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 11 straight.
Waverly was led to victory by Kolsen Keathley and Joey Tomasso. Keathley gained 144 total yards and three touchdowns, while Tomasso threw for 311 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.
Waverly's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Salamanca, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Waverly will take on Fonda-Fultonville at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fonda-Fultonville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Salamanca does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
