Dayton (Ore.) beat
Horizon Christian (Tualatin, Ore.) 57-38 after a strong game from
Forrest Garcia, who rushed for five touchdowns.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Garcia in the first quarter, the Pirates led 29-14 at the half.
Dayton expanded its lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. DHS scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Garcia.
Jered White and Garcia ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Hawks.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 35-7 win for the Pirates.
The defeat comes as a step back for Horizon Christian, which notched a 48-16 victory over Gervais in its previous outing. The loss snapped Horizon Christian's 3-game winning streak.
Dayton (6-1) will play a 3A West Valley game against Gervais next week, while Horizon Christian (4-2) will take on Willamina also in a 3A West Valley game.
