Juarez has gone a perfect 4-0 against Clemente recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Eagles will host the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clemente will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Juarez extended their winning streak to ten on Monday. The Eagles blew past South Shore International 23-1. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Clemente had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 22-1 margin over the Tars. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Jamaris Nguyen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Sabrina Negron and Talina Figueroa did most of the damage at the plate: Negron went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Figueroa went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Emilie Tijerina was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Clemente always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .818. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Clemente pushed their record up to 7-1-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Juarez, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.
Juarez took their victory against Clemente in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
