Basketball Recap: Sand Rock Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Sand Rock had won four straight games and Maddie Clanton did her part to make it five on Tuesday. The Sand Rock Wildcats blew past the Cedar Bluff Tigers 53-23 thanks in part to Clanton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 boards. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Smith, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Sand Rock's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Cedar Bluff, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Sand Rock will take on Ragland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cedar Bluff, they will be playing at home against Ohatchee at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
