West Stanly dropped down to 3-3 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Stanly Comets. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.
West Stanly's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Scarlet Griffin, who went 9-for-18 on her way to 19 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Whitey, who posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.
As for North Stanly, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 55.7 points this season.
Lexie Brown produced another solid performance putting up 21 points. Sammie Lowder was another key player, posting 13 points.
Coming up, West Stanly will face off against Central Academy of Technology & Arts at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Stanly, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against West Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
