The Rodriguez Mustangs will face off against the Whitney Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rodriguez comes in on three and Whitney on eight.
Rodriguez is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Davis Sr. 3-2.

Angelique Boot spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alanna Williams, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rodriguez kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Whitney made easy work of Oak Ridge on Tuesday and carried off an 8-1 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Whitney also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Taylor Cordell gave up a run (which was unearned) on four hits.
On the hitting side, Whitney let Kaitlyn Johnson and Lulu Im run wild. Johnson went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Im went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bri Seffens, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Whitney's win bumped their record up to 23-8. As for Rodriguez, their victory bumped their record up to 17-9.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rodriguez hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Whitney struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
