After flying high against the Jordan Beetdiggers last Friday, the Bonneville Bees came back down to earth. Bonneville was dealt a 81-39 loss at the hands of Shelley on Friday. Bonneville has struggled against Shelley recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Bonneville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Harris, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Harris scored a full 46.2% of Bonneville's points, the 15th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Arfmann, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Bonneville's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Shelley, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Bonneville has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Blackfoot at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Hopefully Blackfoot focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday. Shelley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sugar-Salem at 7:30 p.m. on January 6th. Sugar-Salem is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
