Eno River has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Oxford Prep Griffins at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Thursday, Eno River was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-35 to Clover Garden School.
Meanwhile, Oxford Prep's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 55-32 walloping at the hands of Vance Charter. While losing is never fun, Oxford Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 504th, while Vance Charter is ranked 198th).
Eno River's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8. As for Oxford Prep, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Eno River didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Oxford Prep in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 46-41 victory. Does Eno River have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oxford Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
