The Lincoln Park Lions will venture away from home to square off against the ITW David Speer Academy Pride at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Lincoln Park is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Saint Ignatius College Prep on Monday. They lost 10-1 to the Wolfpack. The Lions have struggled against the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Lincoln Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Miller, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, ITW David Speer Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They never let the Bulls get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. Considering the Pride have won 14 contests by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Anabel Diaz made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. Diaz was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, ITW David Speer Academy got a massive performance out of Brianna Robles, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Robles has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Miabella Collazo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
ITW David Speer Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .558 or higher in three consecutive matches.
ITW David Speer Academy's record is now 18-11. As for Lincoln Park, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lincoln Park hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. However, it's not like ITW David Speer Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .446.
