The Boonsboro Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-44 walloping at the hands of Catoctin. While losing is never fun, Boonsboro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while Catoctin is ranked 26th).
Samantha Orndorff was a one-man wrecking crew for Catoctin as she scored 15 points. Orndorff continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Harley Fitzpatrick, who scored 14 points.
Boonsboro dropped their record down to 8-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Catoctin, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-1.
Boonsboro will square off against North Hagerstown at TBD on Friday. Boonsboro is facing North Hagerstown at the right time seeing as North Hagerstown is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Catoctin, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Linganore at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Linganore is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
