After only eight points in their last match, The Nevada Union Miners made sure to put some points up on the board against the Oakmont Vikings on Friday. Nevada Union simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Oakmont 57-12 on the road.
Oakmont's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Anthony Alvarez, who gained 117 total yards and a touchdown. Alvarez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. Jayden Beattie was another key contributor, picking up 91 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Nevada Union's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Oakmont, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5-1.
Nevada Union will be playing in front of their home fans against Ponderosa at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Ponderosa is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Oakmont, they will take on Placer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Placer is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
