The Hamilton Wildcats won the last time they faced the Booker T. Washington Warriors, and things went their way on Thursday too. Hamilton walked away with a 42-35 win over Booker T. Washington.
Hamilton found their leader in underclassman Amare Boothe, who scored 30 points. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Boothe has scored at least a third of Hamilton's points.
Booker T. Washington's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was LeAnna Carpenter, who scored ten points. Cariyonna Banks was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Hamilton's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9. As for Booker T. Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Memphis Business Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Memphis Business Academy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. Booker T. Washington will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Middle College at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Middle College presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Booker T. Washington in Tennessee (Middle College is ranked 119th, while Booker T. Washington is ranked 320th).
