That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Delailah Lopez and Gloria Galindo did most of the damage at the plate: Lopez went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Galindo went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Evangelina Aleman was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Providence kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Westridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against Polytechnic, falling 16-4.
Westridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11-1. As for Providence, their record now sits at 9-4.
Everything went Providence's way against Westridge in their previous meeting back in April, as Providence made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
