The Marmaton Valley Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northeast Vikings. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Marmaton Valley is ranked 320th, while the Vikings are ranked 303rd).
Even though Marmaton Valley has not done well against the Wildcats recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Marmaton Valley claimed a resounding 60-25 victory over the Wildcats at home. That 35 point margin sets a new team best for Marmaton Valley this season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Northeast's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Altoona-Midway 40-35. The matchup was a 11-11 toss-up at halftime, but Northeast couldn't quite close it out.
Marmaton Valley's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Marmaton Valley came up short against the Vikings in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 47-40. Can Marmaton Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
