Hamilton fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They and the Eagles were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 29-28 defeat. On the bright side, the 28- point performance marked the Hawkeyes' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Hamilton dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hamilton will challenge rival Spring Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Christian is set to square off against their familiar foe Wayland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
