Auburn Adventist scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 84-43 win over Varsity Opponent. Auburn Adventist has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 24 points or more this season.
Auburn Adventist's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but John-Andrew Dubreuil led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Dubreuil scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Ellis, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Northwest Yeshiva posted their biggest victory yet this season on Saturday. They really took it to Pope John Paul II for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-39 victory at home.
Northwest Yeshiva's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joe Benoliel, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Benoliel is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sam Weichbrodt, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Auburn Adventist's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Northwest Yeshiva, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Auburn Adventist have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 32.4 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Northwest Yeshiva, though, as they've been averaging only 34.1 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
