Wall had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it 14 on Friday. Everything went their way against the Merkel Badgers as they made off with a 14-2 win. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by seven runs or more this season.

Gage Reichenau looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025.

At the plate, Hagyn Barbee and Kellan Oliver did most of the damage at the plate: Barbee went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Oliver went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave Oliver a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tyler Klinesmith, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Wall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Wall's victory bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Merkel, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Wall will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Badgers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
